Rainforests by Aisha

In the world, there are about 3 million species of rainforest plants. Amazonian people use more than 1,300 of them as medicines. Hundreds of rainforests are used for food. However, only less than one per cent have been investigated.

Rainforest plants are really good as medicine. 25 per cent of medicines originated from the rainforests. Some can even be used to cure cancer. In addition, rainforests provide food for people and animals. For example; Brazilian peach palms which produces up to 300 fruits everyday. Rainforests are home to lots of animals such as; Armadillos.
